Surrender Process

We understand that life happens and you may not be able to keep an animal that you have taken in. Maybe you accepted responsibility for a pet that someone else abandoned, or you found an animal without a home that you don’t have the resources to care for. Shelters and Rescues are often full, putting pet owners in a challenging spot. If this is you, consider transferring guardianship to us. We strive to offer a compassionate, supportive transfer. Below is the process we ask you to follow to ensure the best possible outcome for the animal!

Step one

Reach out to me on social media (Instagram or Facebook) or using the contact form below. Briefly explain the cat you would like to surrender—are they male or female? Are they fixed and vaccinated? Are there any medical or behavioural concerns that would impact caring for them? Keep it informative and concise.

Step two

I will respond within 24–48hrs if we are able to take the cat or know someone who can, and provide the transfer of guardianship form. Please take care when filling out the form, as it ensures we can provide the best care and future home for your cat.

Step three

Once guardianship is transferred, we can arrange pick-up or drop-off of the animal depending on the situation. We do not allow visits from previous owners, but if you would like updates on the surrendered cat then you are welcome to follow along in this web page, on social media, or reach out to us to ask how they’re doing.
