Frequently asked questions

Where do your fosters come from?

Our fosters come from everywhere! Independent fosters are often surrendered by owners who cannot turn them over to another rescue. Some may be found by good samaritans. We also take cases through the Winnipeg Humane Society, which will be listed on the foster’s profile. We do not handle adoptions for those cats, but their Humane Society profile will be linked once available.

Oftentimes, their life before us is unknown. We spend careful time getting to know each foster, but exact ages or history may be unclear. Each animal’s full file will be transferred to anyone who adopts through us, ensuring we’re on the same page!

How much is the adoption fee and what does it cover?

Adoption fees are listed in the adoption process page. Fees include spay or neuter, full health checks from veterinarians at Whyte Ridge Veterinary Hospital, deworming, and age-dependent FVRCP vaccines (2 or 3). We also provide behaviour and care support throughout the 2-week trial period and beyond! We’re always willing to help out with former fosters.

If fees are an issue, you may still be eligible for adoption. Please briefly describe your situation at the end of your adoption application! You can also reach out to me directly on Instagram or Facebook to talk about possible options.

What are your terms of adoption?

The number one is to do your best to provide a compassionate home! If you ever encounter difficulty with caring for your cat, please reach out to us and we’ll see what we can do to help. If you cannot keep them any longer, surrender them to us so we can find a new loving home.
